Doctor Kalema David

• Dr. Kalema David (Ph.D.) has been the Chairperson of Uganda Alcohol Policy Conferences since its inception event in 2018.
• He an International Certified Addiction Professional and is the Executive Director of Hope and Beyond where he is involved in program administration and mentoring of colleagues in the treatment of Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) a field where he has served for 18 years.
• David is also the Chairperson of Uganda Alcohol Policy Alliance a civil society initiative to lobby for evidence-based and public health-oriented policies for the control of alcohol harm in Uganda.
• Dr .Kalema has authored numerous ground-breaking publications on alcohol misuse and addiction treatment and policies in Uganda and has presented his experiences with drug addiction treatment and research at numerous local regional and global alcohol and drug addictions conferences.
• Dr. Kalema was the Consultant of World Health Organization during the SAFER consultative mission in Uganda and has extensively participated in various mental health policy process.
