• McBernard Otal has been a member to the Ugandan Alcohol Policy Alliance (UAPA) since 2009
• Is a known figure in implementing grass root projects aimed at prevention of drugs and substance abuse, collaborative research designed to adopt materials on substance abuse and risk behavior on runaway youths in Uganda.
• McBernard served as a Publicity Secretary to the Uganda Alcohol Policy Alliance (UAPA) for two terms and Editor-in-chief of the UAPA News Letter called “The Healthy People”.
